Gardens are unique spaces that reflect the gardener themselves. They reflect our desire for green space and proximity to nature. The value of this has been well documented throughout Covid and lockdown. When we first came out of lockdown the queues at garden centre proved this. Even to stand in a long queue, masked, with like minded people was a joy.

Our gardens are dynamic , they are part of the bigger picture environmentally, not separate from it. They are crucial! It is estimated that 530 hectares of residential gardens exist in the U.K. Source: UK Natural Capital : Eco System Accounts for Urban Areas  www.ons.gov.uk

Gardens and gardening are a significant asset in supporting the protection of our environment. The brain child of our Chair Angela Ball our small garden at Tatton measures  three metres x three metres.  It is packed with edibles, pollinators , compostersand hopefully in the longer term, in its new home, habitats for many other small things. It is not only useful but beautiful!
